Click The Pictures Above And Vote After March 18

Just like the Music Awards at the Winter Music Conference in Miami next month Beatport starts a nomination as well. Beginning at 18th March 2008, Beatport users will be given the opportunity to vote for the best electronic music artists of 2007 in the first ever Beatport Music Awards.

All of the electronic dance styles are covered in 19 categories including two multi-genre categories for Best Remix and Best Single. I’m looking really forward to see the results of these two categories because more than 15 genres are competing with each other.

My personal favourite categories are, Best Trance Artist and Best Progressive House Artist.

Here are the nominees for both categories:

Best Trance Artist:

Above & Beyond
Armin Van Buuren
Cosmic Gate
DJ Tiësto
John O’Callaghan
Markus Schulz
Rank 1
Sean Tyas
Stoneface & Terminal
Super8

(lol, I probably can’t vote for multiple artists :P)

Best Progressive House Artist:

Adam K
Austin Leeds
Beckers
Deadmau5
Dousk
Glenn Morrison
Jerome Isma-Ae
Soha
Thomas Gold
Yvan & Dan Daniel

(again, I have to favourite artists in this category!)

Anyway, be sure to make your votes at Beatport.com and may the best artists win!

All 48 Club Life Podcasts By DJ Tiësto

Click Here And Visit Radio 538 (Dutch Radio)

Hello party peepz! Thanks for visiting my blog again.. I have been very busy today collecting all podcasts of DJ Tiësto’s weekly Club Life radioshow on Dutch radiostation Radio 538. Most of the downloadlinks are links with Rapidshare because that’s the best uploadservice in my opinion online. I’m going to update my archive every week as soon as the new download links area available.

With some sets you can see one or multiple “mirror-links”. Those mirror links are just the same files but on different uploadsites (like megaupload.com). After downloading one file at Rapidshare you usually need to wait one or two hours before your allowed to download another file. With mirror-files you can download other files immediately :)

Anyway, I really hope you like DJ Tiësto’s sets and I’m going to do the same for other dutch deejays that do weekly or montly radioshows.

Have fun,

Adriaan

Marco V Says NO To Syria

March 03, 2008 at 10:42 AM by Adriaan

marco-v-syrie.jpg

After a wicked set last week at Trance Energy, Marco V had to cancel his show in Syria after very serious death threats. Marco supposed to be the first international dj ever played in Damascus in Syria and his fans were really excited to see his gig.

A dutch website, musicfrom.nl, says that this was one of those messages people left him online on the guestbook of his website:

“Marco, we warn you not to come to Syria. We are seriously gonna hurt you. You will not see the light of day”

Apart from that message Marco received one or multiple threats by email and that made him decide not to go to Syria at all.

Here’s the statement from Marco & his management:

“Due to the aggressive and threatening tone of email and messages left for me both online and with my management, the show in which I was to perform as the 1st international DJ to play in Damascus in Syria has been cancelled.

After discussions with the promoter and authorities both in Holland and Syria, it was decided that it was too dangerous for me to go ahead with the gig.

Obviously we get all kinds of comments on the boards, mostly positive, some not so good, but never anything like the death threats we received this week. I am very upset that I won’t be able to make it; it would have been a first for me, and a first for Syria. At the end of the day we had to consider what’s happened and take what is sensible advice. Hopefully one day the situation in Syria will allow international DJs such as myself to come and play as we do in every other part of the world

Threats of any kind need to be considered carefully, and taking that into account cancelling was the only option we could take. It was going to be a historic gig for me as well as for Syria, to our
knowledge no international DJ has ever played there before.

I’d like to apologize once again for not being able to make this happen, and would like to thank all those involved for their co-operation and understanding.

Marco”
