Can you create special shortcuts, to quickly hide a game or program and open up something else?

Can you create special shortcuts, to quickly hide a game or program and open up something else?
I have a normal keyboard with no extra things. Is it possible to somehow create shortcuts like that?

I don't think you could program a shortcut to preform a complicated task like that for you, but you could download an open source scripting language like Autoit script, http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/, which interacts directly with the Windows GUI and write a short program to do whatever you need at just a click.

The same language is used to write automation programs for installing software on computers commercially. Instead of working through the install wizard step by step, they use Autoit and let the computer do it themselves.

I use it myself for automated tasks all the time, and it's very easy to learn in terms of programming languages but some people may consider it a little too much of a hassle for preforming simple tasks like you mention.
